Enough Gringoland! :-D

I lived in Brighton from Oct/2008 until Feb/2011. I used to run a club-night in London, called Goo Nite, and a DIY label called O Bosque / Woodland, and play around with a few acts, I am about to resume writing.

After 18 years with my first girlfriend and mother of my only son, I became single in Oct 2010.
I then almost died and afterwards took some time to travel:
Between Nov and Dec 2010 I drove for the Tamborines, who were on tour in mainland Europe (Italy, Germany and Denmark).
On the last days of 2010 I was on the road with my son and his girlfriend across the Southwest of England (Stonehenge, Bath and Cornwall).
In Jan 2011 I've hosted some great friends and we went to beautiful places around Brighton and London.
In Feb 2011 I visited a couple of great friends in Glasgow and traveled a little more in Europe, to Latvia and Iceland.
From March to May 2011 I was in the USA, first playing/recording with the Strobosmiles in NYC, then backpacking across North America, up and down through different parts of the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Then I backpacked in South America, passing through Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and different parts of Brazil.

Now I'll try to spend some time in Asia as well, or isolated somewhere in order to write/read/record/contemplate/have fun/etc.

Only after all this I'll decide where to settle and what to do for a living (I would love to open a business like a bar/venue)...

Books along the way

Now I'm in a small and rough room of a tenement on the back of a poor restaurant, some blocks away the bus station, which is located in the outskirts of the extremely hot and strange city of Porto Velho, in the Brazilian Amazonia.

Tomorrow I'll catch a plane to Manaus, my last destination before coming back to São Paulo in order to settle for a while...

On this series of travels through Europe, North and South America, from the end of November 2010 to the beginning of August 2011, mostly after I definitely quit my job in Brighton in January 2011, I have been reading books while traveling, as usual, for I love reading...

Since I was changing my life, when I started these travels, leaving behind a failed marriage/family, I decided to sell out everything I could, and to give away what I couldn't sell...
I forgot to advertise my books, so I decided to bring some of them with me...

When I finished reading one of them, I just gave it away to someone along the way, a host, a friend or anyone I had just met and thought deserved the book!

Here goes the list with the books and where I left them behind!
I hope their new owners enjoy them as much or more than I did!

Yeah Medeiros

Pessoas com vidas interessantes não têm fricote. Elas trocam de cidade. Investem em projetos sem garantia. Pedem demissão sem ter outro emprego em vista. Aceitam um convite para fazer o que nunca fizeram. Começam do zero inúmeras vezes. Sobem no palco, fazem loucuras por amor, compram passagens só de ida. ...Para os rotuladores de plantão, um bando de inconseqüentes.

People with interesting lives have no frills. They go to live in other cities. Invest in projects without recourse. Ask for dismissal without having another job in sight. Accept an invitation to do what they never did. Start from scratch many times. They climb on stage, do crazy things for love, buy one-way tickets. ... for the labelers on call, just a bunch of inconsequentials.
